She's Crafty

My sister Debbie has just started her own etsy's page (it is like ebay but everything is handmade). And I just wanted to give a little shout out to Debbie who is not only my sister but my best friend. She is a wonderful mother to her two kids, an awesome sister, the best best friend & she's amazingly CRAFTY. Just check out some of the stuff on her etsy page.....

hair cut

Does it annoy anyone else when you ask someone if they got a hair cut and they say "no I got my hairs cut"? Or maybe you are that someone who says this. All I have to say to you is, you are so clever. After work today I am going to go get my hair cut nothing drastic just some more layers and a trim but I am going to get bangs, the straight across kind. I sent the following picture to my hairstylist (notice not hairs stylist) Amy. To show her the kind of bangs I am going for.

Random Fact: In Britain they do not use the word Bangs they say Fringe.

I was emailing my mom this morning and I told her I was going to be getting my hair cut tonight and sent the picture so she could see the bangs. This was her response… “I guess her hair is pretty enough, but your eyes are prettier, probably because you don't need to put so much black stuff around yours! How fun for you to be getting it done!”
Thanks mom that is very sweet of you to say. Aren’t moms the best.

Dah Dah Dah Dah...Me with bangs or fringe whatever you prefer.

Fashion 101

I am not very fashionable myself but I do enjoy fashion. I love shows like What Not to Wear and Project Runway. Project Runway especially, I enjoy watching the creative minds at work and in my turn try and come up with a design also. This is off the point but over Christmas break they had a Project Runway marathon and while I forced others to watch Debbie told my mom she should go on the show (which my mom completely could she is an amazing seamstress, if she wanted to be a fashion designer). But I wanted those of you who know my mom to now picture her on a reality TV show and hope you enjoy the image as much as I did. Alright back to the point (it really would not be my blog if there was not a little tangent now and again, right). I wanted to share a couple of web sites with you that are dedicated to modest fashion and that are not your typical Utah modest fashion.
http://www.elizamagazine.com/

ELIZA magazine was created for women who want to be stylish, sexy, and still keep high standards in dress, entertainment, and lifestyle. In a media culture that frequently objectifies and commercializes women and their bodies, ELIZA strives to provide an alternative to the current mainstream media that emphasizes sex and skin in order to push products or sell magazines. ELIZA magazine was created for women who want high-fashion that encourages and inspires them, providing hip and current styles that enhance the whole woman. Each issue will provide exciting and informative features in Fashion, Beauty, Health,
-The above is from their myspace page. PS I heard about this magazine through the Walkers they are related to the mastermind behind it.

This is a website I found from Eliza's website. They have some cute dresses.

I just wanted to show my support to those who are trying to help modesty be fashionable.

out with the old and in with the new

Here are the top five movies I saw in 2007

The Bourne Ultimatum

These have to be my favorite action movies by far.

Stardust

Very entertaining I actually saw this 3 times in the theater alone.

Becoming Jane

I was pleasantly surprised by this film. James McAvoy is my new it guy. I want to see everything he is in.

Lars and The Real Girl

This movie was great I felt very connected to the characters and left the theater with a smile on my face.

Juno

I saw this Christmas day with my little brother and we both liked it a lot. Very funny.

As for 2008 here are some movie trailers that have caught my attention.

Wanted

Like I said I want to see everything with James McAvoy.

Be Kind Rewind

Need I say anymore??? - It was funny but not what I thought it was going to be.

Prince Caspian

I like Narnia alright but I hope this one is better.

Jumper

I am not so sure about this one but I hope it is cool. - It was not cool in fact I hated this movie.

We Hail Christian Bale

My friend Lindsey wrote that in my year book, funny how it is still true after almost eight years.

While wrapping Christmas presents a few weeks ago I was watching Little Women and was reminded of how much I love Christian Bale, he is such a great actor. I began to wonder of all his roles which one is my favorite I still have not come up with an answer, what do you guys think?
A) Jack Kelly (Newsies)

B) Thomas (Swing Kids)

C) Laurie (Little Women)

D) Batman/Bruce Wayne (Batman Begins)

E) Alfred (The Prestige)

Is there anything this guy can't do? He sings he dances he can play the dream guy, bad guy, super hero basically he is amazing.

Here is a preview for The Dark Knight

Can't wait!!!
